Is Hypnotherapy for Me?
Hypnotherapy is for people whose weight is a result of overeating, and sometimes due to lack of activity (except through medical reasons). It does not address those whose obesity is the result of certain medical conditions.

Your Mind
In the past, you may have lost weight with lots of conscious effort. Your conscious mind served as a military force to keep your hunger habits from invading. But, as soon as you stopped dieting,your subconscious took over again. This is because the subconscious is stronger than the conscious mind, and you did what you were most strongly directed to do: You ate more than your body physically needed. While the subconscious is no simple power to grapple with, it is only through permanent changes in this part of your mind that you will experience permanent changes in your life changes that come automatically and are not painful. If you accept your subconscious as your friend, instead of your enemy, you will be able to take a look at what is causing behaviour that, ultimately, makes you unhappy.

Is there a strict Diet?
It is not within the remit of Hypnotherapy to propose a particular diet. Hypnotherapy can encourage you to learn to listen to your body. In addition, there is no such thing as a 'forbidden food' proposed (excluding those foods you need to avoid for medical reasons e.g. through allergies). If you were told that you could eat anything in the world except chocolate, the first time you felt a bit bored or depressed the one thing you may likely crave could be chocolate.

What's involved?
A Hypnotherapist works with you to create new, more appropriate solutions and behaviour around food. You utilise a variety of techniques to assist in gradual changes toward your goal of becoming slim, trim healthy.

Ask yourself:
What is your motivation to lose weight?
Do you eat the kind of food that creates health and energy in your body?
When do you turn to food? (When you feel bored, stressed, happy, empty, lonely, angry, overwhelmed, afraid, sad, anxious, and/or depressed?)
Is the problem one of eating too much of everything?
Do you snack between meals?
Do you eat everything on your plate?
What do you feel/think about wasting food?
How much and what kind of exercise do you get?
What obstacles/beliefs are in the way of your success?
